New Zealanders are frequent travellers and love to explore their own country. Locals and tourists alike, there are an increasing number of people seeking a more genuine experience from a place, so finding the right accommodation is a key ingredient to the ultimate get-away.
Holiday Houses is part of the wider Trade Me family and has the most extensive portfolio of beach houses for rent listed by the owners – accommodation ranging from apartments, boats, cottages and caravans – they have now introduced glamping into the mix!
Trade Me briefed us to create a new identity that would better reflect the premium Holiday Houses listings; it needed to unify the visual language both on and offline, strengthening brand awareness and presence.
The second part of the brief was to redesign the website to attract new renters as well as entice home owners whose properties are not currently listed with Holiday Houses.
Careful attention was paid to the UX/UI to improve the overall user-experience; a focus on optimising the search function of the site was critical in providing the most relevant listings for holiday-goers and creating a truly satisfying experience. There were also important technical considerations within the design process. Our creative approach needed to work within Trade Me’s pre-existing backend structure as well as accommodating the introduction of their new pricing model.
Since the redesign, they’ve hit their record number of bookings and it continues to increase – we’re pretty chuffed about that.
